if i just put some lotion on and then powder will it be able to last through prom, which ends up getting hot and sweathy or do i need to get the liquid foundation to wear underneath the pressed powder in order for the makeup to stay on all night. i will be doing touchups but i don't want there to be big gaping holes in my makeup where i've sweated everything away. thanks!

REVLON ColorStay Active. It has SPF 25 (perfect for humid/hot places and or events) and literally stays on all day! I use it when I go Snow Skiing, I don't get sunburned and I look natural on the slopes not cakey and fake. I have combination skin and still get acne from time to time but this makeup has almost stopped every breakout and oily/dry spot. $8 at Wal-Mart and well worth trying it. It's a light makeup so you won't feel made up and fake. Good luck in your search.

its definatly a problem, when it comes to dances and getting all sweaty, it seems to be best to wear less on your actual face, and just really focus on eyes and lips. your face will absorb makeup, and youll sweat it off, AND youll be resting your head on boys and that sort of thing, and its just a mess.

another great alternative is to get your makeup done. dont know why, but when i was in high school, i find that when my makeup was professionally done, it was just indestructable. like i sweat THROUGH the makeup, rather than sweating it OFF. its definatly worth looking into. i mean for my prom i got my makeup done in Macy's by Lancôme, and after prom my friends and i went and camped on the beaches of lake michigan. and let me tell you, even after pictures, dinner, dancing, sweating, changing, AND camping... i woke up with my makeup in perfect mint condition like i hadnt just slept in a tent.
