Default Can you use a cream-type concealer when using bare minerals as your foundation?

I am thinking of getting bare minerals but I was wondering how to incorporate using concealer with it. I can't go without concealer because I have dark circles...I know the application technique involves swirling the kabuki brush all over the face, but won't the powder make my concealer look cakey around my eyes?

Actually, you need a small concealer brush- I have dark circles and I used the concealer brush under my eyes and it worked perfectly. all you do is dab the brush in the powder foundation and use the concealer brush under the eyes THEN do your kabuki brush all over your face. YOU can use a cream concealer, I don't think it will be to cakey- just keep a mist or toner to spritz the face so not to look to cakey. you can also go to any bare minerals store and get a free makeover- they can help you. also if you are not soooo happy with the bare mineral results try Jane Iredale- she has liquid foundations concealers ALL MINERALS. good luck. Just remember blending is the key~ Oh, and good lighting.

Yes, you can use a concealer. But, I would suggest that you use a mineral concealer. Check the resources below.
How to apply AFFORDABLE MINERAL MAKEUP
1) Applying Mineral Makeup is different than regular makeup!
2) Don't let the colors fool you! (they go on like a veil- very sheer)
3) Use the correct brushes and use them right

Applying Foundation:
Most people don't understand why there aren't a large number of foundation colors and the reason is that the color goes on so sheer and soaks into the skin that one color acts like a veil. One color matches about 4 skin tones. It offers tremendous coverage but also a a very sheer coverage but can go on heavier if you choose.

Steps for Concealers:
1) Use a Concealer brush and dip into mineral concealer.
2) Tap on concealer into desired areas. Spot it on!
3) For Blemish cover up - spot tap the concealer and then apply foundation directly over the concealer. Concealers are tapped into the area as if blotting with fine tipped brush - While foundations are swirled lightly onto the face
4) For covering eye are simply spot tap on bottom part of eye - do not wipe on to prevent washing out of the eyes and getting that raccoon look. SPOT TAP instead!

Steps for foundations:
1) Open jar and use brush to take a small amount of foundation powder onto your kabuki brush!

2) Turn over the lid that is used to cover the mineral makeup jar and tap the powder into the top of jar (The jar top acts like a small bucket)

3) Really push the brush into the powder that you have placed in the top of the jar. Work the powder into the brush (This is important)

4)After you do this the powder will almost be invisible on the brush.

5) Using circular & soft brush motions on the face, forehead and near eyes. Repeat steps 1-6 until you reached the desired coverage. It should blend very well with the face and appear as very sheer. For heavier coverage repeat the above steps until desired coverage is reached

IMPORTANT:
DO NOT JUST DIP YOUR KABUKI BRUSH AND APPLY - THE MINERALS WILL GO ON TO DARK!

DO NOT USE TOO MUCH FOUNDATION AT ONE TIME! IF you are used to a heavier makeup then simply repeat the above steps to reach desired coverage!

Actually it wont look cakey. I do it all the time. I first put the concealer all around my eyes (sometimes on blemishes) and then do that swirl tap and buff thing and it comes out looking good. Just try it.
