Default If chap stick really was suppose to heal my lips.. why do I have to buy it so often?

Do you think there is some type of additive that makes people addicted? I heard that. So I stopped using chap stick and use lip gloss instead. Do you think chap stick really really really heals lips or just feels good?

It doesn't actually 'heal' lips. It puts a coat over the lips so it's more resistant to damage.

Actually, our lips can become dependent on the lip balms to keep them moist.

Drink more water!

Many chapsticks have a petroleum jelly base. Petroleum jelly creates a barrier over your lips but does nothing to moisturize them. They may seem to heal when they are not getting worse but they are not moisturized either. Look for a chapstick with alternative major ingredients ( the first couple of ingredients listed) such as beeswax, etc. Trader Joes sells excellent chapstick and Back to Basics offers a good Green Tea flavor available at WallMart.
