First, drink lots of water, throughout the entire day. everyday. staying hydrated makes your skin a million times better.

also, don't "over product" your face. Wash once in the morning, once before bed. (Unless you go running, etc and are sweaty, then you might want to invest in those oxy pads? or something similar, they work well for a quick after exercising face cleaning.) Don't touch your face and you should be swell.

also, if you don't have a perfect complexion, love the complexion you DO have. Someone out there would love to be you, so you should love being you too. Having clearer skin won't change anything.

good luck!

I've never had a blemish once because my mother has always been strict with what I use on my face. First, find out how many ounces of water you should have in a day. Drink that every day.

When you wake up, wash your face with soap. Nothing fancy though.

When you are about to go to bed, wash your face again. I also use an apricot scrub and 'wave' by neutrogena.

Don't use fancy scenty creams. They may smell nice, but they can really do damage to your skin. Same with soap.

For cream I rotate with some products. ALWAYS make sure your products are oil free.

Oils aren't the culprit - well some types are but not all....

I used to have acne prone skin and now it's combination since i've gotten it under control.

I start with a Pre-Wash Oil, then I use a natural soap (either Green Clay Soap, Apricot Scrub, Oatmeal, or Tea Tree Oil depending on how my skin is that day), followed by a really light 100% natural moisturizer. All the products are handcrafted by Athena's Olive Tree (Athena's Olive Tree - Providers of Bath and Body Products and Gifts) and they all work really well. I think it's because of the oil and moisturizer plus the fact that everything is natural.

Find something that works for you or contact a professional and ask for their advice. Athena's Olive Tree will customize products for your skin type if you contact them but I didn't need anything custom. Always use a moisturizer (even if you have oily skin), always drink a lot of water, and never never skip washing your face in the morning or at night. If it gets really bad then start changing your pillowcase every other day too.
