I use Biosilk shampoo and conditioner and they make my hair soft, but if you want really soft hair then get some deep conditioner and leave it in for 10-20 minutes. I use Garnier Fructis deep conditioner. It says to leave it in for three minutes but the longer you leave it in, the softer your hair weill be.

I'm OBSESSED with Frederic Fekkai products (available at some Bath and Body Works stores, bathandbodyworks.com, or directly from his salons). He's a celebrity stylist so his prosucts are pricey-ish (around $20 per bottle) but WAY worth it! Plus, they're super-concentrated so you only need a small, small amount of product. I use his Technician Color shampoo and conditioner daily for my color-treated hair, and I use the Technician Color hair mask a couple of times a week. After styling, I use his Glosser creame to make my hair soft, smooth, and shiny all over (if you get nothing else, GET THE GLOSSER!!!!!!) - I literally have people walk up to me just to touch my hair!! It's SO soft and light!

I really like Bath & Body Works Moisturizing Conditioner - it's $7.50, but it works so well! If you don't want to spend as much, Herbal Essences works very well also.

In order to get my hair to be soft, 3 times a week after I wash my hair, I towel dry it and apply conditioner. I sleep in it and wash it off the next day. I like Biolage (I'm not sure what it is called but its in a tall tub) and Pantene Time Renewal.
