Default Henna, Manic Panic or color depositing shampoos?

Dyed my hair red a little over a week ago and I hate that it fades away so quickly. Many suggested Henna. Some suggested Manic Panic (which I've used before) others said to use Color Depositing shampoo. I want something that will last and be healthy for my hair too. It's taken awhile to get it the lenght it is now so I dont want to damage it too much. Any other suggestions?

i have been using henna on my hair for a year and love it- one problem- u cant color ur hair any other color until the hennaed hair grows out...but if u want a beautiful, natural looking long lasting healthy hair dye, definetly go w/ henna

Henna contains metallic salts and coat the hair. If you use it, you will not be able to use any other color to change it if you don't like it because other colors will not penetrate it.

Manic Panic is a good choice if you want some intense, wild color. Color depositing shampoo enhances what you already have. For example I use a shampoo for blonde hair and it enhances it and makes it more shiny.

Read the labels before you decide, but stay away from hennas.

are you trying to do over all color? or just sections?
what color and what color is your natural? what look are you going for? punker? bright? or just auburn?

I have also used manic panic, many many moons ago! The color tends to wash out quicker if its a blue or green or pink, reds usually hold in my hair, prob because I have a red undertone.
