Default Can I shampoo & condition my 7week year puppy?

My cute little pup might need a bath i a wondering if he is too young?

Also I've realized that he dont like puppy chow. I normally mixed milk with the chow but he just drank the milk and left rest. What can i do.

I wouldn't.

People are conditioned to treat animals as if the are humans and influenced from corporations to use use use. I'd wash your puppy maybe 3-4 months.

regarding washing i would recommend a little baby shampoo in a bowl wash puppy using cotton wool and then rinse in bath with water, always make sure you dry well.
regarding the chow have you tried things like scrambeled egg or weetabix my puppies loved that

ask your vet but i think you can mix wet puppy food with the dry and make it more appealing also i think they sell special gentle shampoo at pet stores. I wouldn't use human shampoo and conditioner tho.Seems like it would be too harsh.

You can buy puppy shampoo, which is meant to be hyperalergenic.

Unlike a previous answer says dogs can be bathed as often as needed. Anyone who has walked a dog who LOVES rolling in farm animal dung will appretiate this!

HOWEVER you need to remember that shampoo can strip the dog of essential oils out of the dogs hair. So one a week is as frequnet as needed as a guide.

Cats however tend to self groom and appart from the claws and the risk of boddily harm to the human washing them, that can lick potentially poisonous chemical.

One last thing is puppies dont have as much defence as an older dog against cold so dry him/her and keep them warm.

I would be really careful about giving such a young pup a bath. Of course if he has food on him you can wipe it off with a wet cloth.

Puppies arent that resilient at 7 weeks and the biggest issue I can think of with a bath is heat loss especially as he dries. In fact I would recommend against it.

With the puppy chow, I would be soaking it and then stirring it so that you have a slurry of sorts. He is still pretty young.
