The lice were scratching your scalp to get you to scratch your head to bring blood to the surface. Your skin is still irritated and this is normal.

Make sure you wash all bedding and anything the lice might hide on. They can get really stubborn if they get a good hold in your residence.

What I finally found that worked was a robi comb. http://www.schoolhealth.com/shop/pe_90273.asp You can usually find them at most drug stores. Its battery operated so if you get another infestation just bring it out and put a new battery in it. If you get more than 2 infestations it has paid for itself.

Did your head itch because the "RID" is a chemical solution or did it itch because of the lice? How advanced is the lice growth? One more treatment and a thorough washing of hair brushes, pillows, sheets bedding, hair accessories, jackets hoodies anything that came into contact with your hair. Also if you can't wash the item seal it in a bag for a week this will suffocate the little offenders. It is possible you may be experiencing a sensitivity to the "RID" did you have sensitive skin prior? Health food stores can direct you to a natural or organic alternative.
