Default If I have naturally straight hair, will using a mousse/gel designed for curly/wavy

hair bring out some waves? I have a Curl's Up! styling gel and Herbal Essences curls mousse, but naturally straight hair. Scrunching has not worked for me in the past.
I don't want my hair to be permanently curly/wavy, just every now and then. I've tried braiding overnight and it works well, but sometimes I take a shower in the morning and want waves that day, so braids don't work sometimes.
I've tried a curling iron multiple times, using guides from Seventeen and CosmoGirl magazines on how to get soft waves/curls, and they don't work. How much do hot curlers usually cost?

If that's the case for you, and you really want curly or wavy hair, you should go get a perm or wave body

If you scrunch it, it will help bring some waves a bit.

I think it would be better to curl your hair with a curling iron or curlers then secure it with hairspray. If you have naturally straight hair, then putting mousse in it will make it clump and it will look stringy and greasy.

You should look for a texturizing pomade. The kind that come in little tubs. Use this with a hot iron. This it the best way to add waves to naturally straight hair.

My hair is straight on top, but curly underneath. I use the texture pomade to get the top to cooperate when I want curls.
