i have short enough layers
i have several combs and brushes
i have wax and hairspray
i've followed youtube tutorials
but no matter what i do it goes flat 5 minutes later

what am i doing wrong?

It may be in the way that you are doing it, or it may just be your hair type.
I've found that it works best for coarser hair, ie thick or bleached hair..
When you are teasing it and adding the hairspray, make sure that you backcomb it and spray it from underneath, it will stay a whole lot longer than just sprayed on the top..

Unfortunately some people's just will not tease!!! If its thinner its easier... sorry, mine doesn't really stay either!

It shouldn't be just washed...tease it with a comb with short & long teeth,that are close together. Made for this~! spray with Freezing spray by Aussie...

Add Rachel Bilson-like oomph to the old-fashioned way. Francky weas by steam rollers. Dry your hair, and wrap a few top layers around the curlers. After a few minutes take them out. Seal with a curl, and spritz of hair spray. and poof!- voluminous locks.

MY TIP (not GL'S):

Buy larger rollers, like 2-3 inches in diameter. When your hair is wet, put the top layer in rollers (thin layers) (hair too short? go for small rollers, but only rap them around twice.... you want oomph, not curl....

BUT for any of you out there who want celebrity curly hair:

Let your hair dry naturally, Wrap layers around a large barrek, hair ironer; curl the hair starting at the top.

Try Spray N Play by Big Sexy Hair. It can be a little stiff, but it will hold anything up! It's probably cheapest to buy it on ebay, because it will cost you around $20 in the salon.

hey u shud go to saloon n they will give u some uv light or some light treatment for 30 min,this makes ur hair stay up perminantly n fallow the guidelines given by saloon shop
