i think it has to do with like wide screen cause i think there making fun of her size

cinemascope was how they used to film movies in widescreen
they were making fun of her size as the tv screen is not wide enough to film tracy

Cinemascope was a widescreen movie format used in the 1950's and 60's. Sort of our IMAX thing today but 50 years ago.
