burn my hair? i heard that chi straighteners dont burn hair.

I have never burned my hair with a chi or any other straightner and I have also never used a heat protectant spray

They don't 'burn' your hair, but any application of heat is going to cause some damage- why would you want to subject your hair to any more damage than you have to? A heat protectant is just that; a protectant against heat damage. It also gives 'glide' to make the iron slide over the hair more easily, avoiding grabbing and breaking hair. If you are concerned with making your hair too flat or oily looking, there are many different products with different forms (drops, sprays, pomades...) and weights; Vinyl Glam by Redken is very lightweight.

If it has multiple heat settings make sure you lose a medium setting or lower if you have fine or damaged hair. But try to ALWAYS use a thermal product. Something you get from your stylist.

my boyfriend bought me a chi straightener a cpl years ago, and I used to use it almost every day for about a year, It came with shampoo, a treatment conditioner and a protective serum, I haven't used much of the shampoo and stuff but I've used the straightener many MANY times. My hair is fine, and that's why i love it so much, it doesn't damage my hair at all! also try the protective serum, it helps alot, adds nice shine and makes it look so so healthy!!
