Default disabled dog owner needs help on how to keep hair from natting cannot brush?

Please do not tell me to get rid of my baby. We need each other. He loves me and our likes and dislikes match. We go for walks, take naps, and like the same food ( I would like to give him human food-but don"t)

We need help.

Dpending on the breed, I'd really get the dog a real short-hair cut or even shaved. Go find a groomer or local vet (some groom, but if not, they will be able to tell you a good groomer).

Hi I have a shih-tzu and there maybe a wide range of reasons that he's hair might be getting matted.. due to shampoo, or the shedding of he's old coat... What I do is use pantenne shampoo or you can use sauve the 2 in 1 it works just as great. It leaves her hair extremely soft and manageable. my dog tends to get matted, but if it isn't so bad I'd work with it. There are combs that actually remove hair that your dog might be trying to shed (He's old coat). That will help bring he new one out ... I also use biosilk you can get that only at hair salons and it's a bit pricey.. Now if you end up taking him to get groom and he is matted all they will do is shave him down and I sure wouldn't like that done to mine. Unless you dont mind for that. They will charge more cause he is matted. I would just work with him all that you can to remove the matted areas and if you feel that you are hurting him too much then right there is when you have to bite the bullet and take him in regardless. So that he wont suffer any longer.... Cause I know we love our pets like crazy .. I know I love my baby.... Good luck I hope that this has helped....
