Default Do I take good enough care of my relaxed hair?

So Im and African American girl and I've been relaxing my hair for about 5 or 6 years now. At night I put it up in a VERY LOOSE french braid and wrap a scarf around it. I wash it every week to week and a half (only bc I have dandruff). And only use heat to straighten it after washing it (blow dryer then flat iron). Plus I trim it every 2 to 3 months taking off about 1-2 inches. And I use home relaxers.

My hair is now about 5-6 in past my shoulders. I'm wondering if I'm doing the right thing to ensure that I have healthy hair. And also how do you take a break from relaxers w/o pulling the new growth causing hair loss.
Oh and I don't use grease.
Only Mineral Oil.
