Default black hair care question....?

ive been taking good care of my hair for years, but I'm feeling that theres more out good stuff out there that i haven't tried. i would appreciate some tips or just information on what you do to your hair to make it grow healthy. please don't give me any sites, ive been to a lot, and now am just searching for advice from random people out there.
maybe theres something rare that you do to your hair and it really works..stuff like that. i don't want hair products either, unless they're natural and organic. ( ive used every product i thought might help, and now moving on to home recipes.)

feel free to share any knowledge, advice or tips. thanks!

(I'm biracial, so my hair is slightly curly, but very thick and difficult to manage. its shoulder length, if this helps)

What I have done for years, and also a friend of mine who is bi-racial is mayonnaise treatments. There are any numbers of recipes for it, but any combo works wonders! You can either buy a Mayonnaise or Cholesterol treatment from the store, but the hone-made stuff is better in my opinion. One way to make a large batch is mix a jar of full-fat mayo with a cup of olive oil. Mix it up well and store in a glass jar. For a one-use batch, mix about a cup of mayo, 1/2 cup olive oil and one egg yolk together. Either recipe, slather a good amount on wet hair (use as much as you like) and really work it through. Leave on your hair under a hair dryer or a warmed towel for at least 45 minutes. I've left it on my hair overnight, too, and it's fine. I've seen some recipes that say use a whole egg, but I tried that with a warm towel and ended up with little bits of cooked egg white in my hair. \

Also if you have dry scalp, dab diluted vinegar on your scalp with a cotton ball, let sit on your hair overnight, and wash out in the morning. Make sure its 1 part vinegar, 2 parts water, or it will be too harsh.

Nettle tea (which can be found in health food stores) is good for your hair, sort of works as a clarifier and rinses all the product out of your hair.

Take a good hair, skin and nail vitamin or even prenatal vitamins. They will do wonderful things for your hair.
Hope this helps!

I have incredibly thick hair and its pretty long too, and I'm a bit paranoid about keeping it healthy. So I use a aloe-vera based shampoo and conditioner on my hair, and its amazing! Makes your hair very shiny and really looks after it.
Aloe-vera is a plant found in Africa. It is a very healing plant (I happen to use the lip salve also as it works like magic if you have chapped lips!) and is used in lots of medicines.
However it is rather expensive but I'm sure you could get some of their products cheap on eBay or something..?
Good luck x

well... thats the age old question isn't it? lol

well, totally accidentally when i put some color in my hair, i got this shampoo/conditioner that would help keep the color in. I have really dark hair, not black, but close to, and its like a wild beast that decided to make a nest on my head.

Anyways, so i use this stuff, get out of the shower and just let my hair dry. it was amazing. no fuzz...at ALL. my hair even curled nicely, all coming together for a joint effort in the awesome realm.
It was called Lanza... its organic.. made without some ingredient that other shampoos use to get it to sud up.
I got it at a hair/beauty supply store. I liked it a lot. Other than that i don't know what else to tell you. Do the same the rest of us do... beat it down with a stick and make it your slave... hair really sucks at times. Best of luck ;p
