...should I use? I want some for the following (although not necessarily in the same bottle/container):

*De-frizzing my hair
*Adding extra volume to my hair
*Something to helping me give that "messy" look (perhaps a mousse?)
*Something to help curl my hair
*A protective spray for when I straighten my hair


I heard that the following brands are very good:

*Tigi Bedhead
*VO5
*Shockwaves

I've heard good things about Tigi Bedhead because it's a salon brand but I wondered whether it's really worth the money or not. I was thinking perhaps something not as important/hard to find a good one such as the heat protective spray, I could get from VO5 and the de-frizzer I could get from Bedhead.

I have medium length hair with bangs/side fringe. It's naturally wavy and quite frizzy but have managed to sort of tame it for a while but I still seem to get quite a few fly-aways/frizz.

So, any suggestions on specific products from those three brands? Thanks so much!
Oh, and I forgot to mention that I currently use Tresemme Smoothing Serum but I'm not sure if it's helped or not...

I've also thought about buying Garnier Fructis products...

If I were I'd try Lee Stafford! His products are amazing and smell like the hairdressers! Lol. Lee stafford has styling and protection products for all types of hair.

Those are Lee's products on the link above. You'll be able to find products you need on there. You can buy the products online or from Boots or most good drugstores.

Here are some products I recommend:

*De-frizzing- Poker Straight Shampoo and Conditioner. And to stop your hair frizzing in the damp weather spray on some Dehumidifier. It works wonders!

*Adding extra volume to hair- Double Blow Mousse.

*Something to helping to give that "messy" look- As rough as you like it Clay. Or Messed Up Spray Wax.

*Something to help curl hair- Babe Wave Styling Creme.

*A protective spray for straightening hair- Poker Straight Flat Iron Protection Shine Mist.

Some other good ones are TRESemme heat protection spray, Molton brown detangle and condition, bed head defrizz.

Most store brand products are diluted with water or other chemicals, that's why they are generally cheaper. TGI is excellent!, but not everyone can use it. I recommend S-Factor by TGI for you. Tips on the frizzy. Be sure you dry your hair completely. For instance, If you just got out of the shower...you need to towel dry your hair, then add a leave in conditioner. TGI`s (It`s a 10) <---great leave it helps with split ends and frizz. Then blow dry for atleast 15-30 minutes. Just time yourself. Most people stop to early. Then they complain of frizz. Pulling your hair with a well vented brush will help too! So.......heat heat pull pull the cool air cool air pull pull, repete again heat heat pull pull then the cool setting. Always end you blowdry on cool that will lock in your straight bowdry and add shin. A good way to know if you are really dry is your hair will start to shin. Good luck!!

Well yes professional products are better. If you do not want to spend the money on salon products, go to sally's and by the generic brands not as good but better than wal-mart etc. For shampoo's/cond use a smoothing and volume change up every other day. When hair is wet apply a root lifter and a little mousse to roots. When flat ironing select a serum perhaps CHI silk infusion or something from Sally's. For the messy look try wax after drying and just mess it up. Fly-aways spray your hand with a little hair spray and slightly glide on hair.
