Caring for thick wavy flyaway hair?
I suppose the most important thing to note here is I really haven't taken good care of my hair for about the past 5 years due to stress. Self-Pity aside lets get down to the nitty gritty:
My hair.
Naturally its very wavy, dry, frizzy and flyaway. I can take a pair of straighteners to it fine and it'll look good for around 4 days (or until I sweat/it gets wet).
I've gone through many types of products such as Pantene Pro-V, Sunsilk, Garnier Sleek and Shine and have now moved onto Herbal Essences for Dry and Damaged hair. I do the usual routine, wet it, shampoo it, rinse it, conditioner, rinse with cold water before getting out.
Now I've tried blowdrying and just leaving it to dry on its own accord. Both resort in the same outcome. It goes dry as heck, frizzy as heck, fly-away as heck, light as heck (not a bad thing I'd imagine) and SO SO STATIC nor is it very shiny. Its like this big puff of fly-away static on my head.
So any tips for taming the untamable?
I forgot to mention that I'm trying to grow it out to around armpit length too, but during the summer (especially now) it's going really dry and frizzy and doesn't move together, one gust of wind and it'll just blow all over the place and will just stay where the wind has blown it. Is this a sign that it's severely damaged?
