I have an 8 year old son, who does not look after his skin, or his hair. His hair gets extremely dirty, his skin gets extremely dry,flakey and itchy. I tell him he needs to wash his hair properly when he has his bath or shower, and he needs to use soap on his skin and use lotion afterwards, be he does not listen.

He has swimming lessons at the pool Mondays and Thursdays, and those are the only times I get to rinse him off in the shower and use soap, get his hair scrubbed and lotion him down. I have a few girlfriends who do the same with their kids who are in my sons swimming lessons.

Any ideas on what I can do?
He does not take interest in girls, he is only in the 2nd grade.

Make sure he showers every day.
Bring him to the store and let him pick out
his own soaps and lotions.

Explain the importance and explain how no
girls like stinky, dirty boys.

Just wait until he discovers the joy of girls. Then tell him about personel hygine. It will sink in pretty fast.

Hes just a normal boy.
