Default What is the best black haircare for little girls....?

If you don't know, please don't reply as I'm in dire straights right now. My daughter's hair is breaking off little by little....and in my eyes, badly.

She's lost half the length of her ponytails in the span of 1 year.
She's 7 her hair is still natural. I've been using "Lets Jam" for fly aways...is this bad? Also, summer camp has her in the pool alot - but breakage continued during the school year... I'm at a loss.
Here is my regiment, please advise what I'm doing wrong...

1. I wash her hair once a week
(for caucasions I suppose you would think this is gross, but black hair doesn't make oils as fast, so everyday washing isn't necessary for us as you may do).

2. I moisterize her scalp, towel dry and plat the damp hair to allow it to air dry (no blow dryers, curling irons or hot combs).

3. I comb and brush her hair daily (baretts/braids/ the like...) every morning before school.

I think I'm doing a good job.
Any suggestions? Products? Regiments I may not be aware o

Use hair lotion and try braiding it so it is not being pulled at and stressed out so much.

try using cod liver oil once a week on her scalp before going to bed use a plastic shower cap and rinse in the morning. I know it doesn't smell good but it is fantastik forgrowing hairr and it will strenghthen it .

make sure her hair is dry before you braid speciallt near the scalp.

Bepending on her hair use coconutoil or olive oil as a moisturizer.

allow hair to breath, use no products on her hair on days she is home.
Also check her diet is she getting enough fish and veggies?
keep her away from fried foods.

J/a/s/o/n products are very good you can buy them at a whole foods wild oats heath food type of store.
Hope you will try these and yu will see good results

Everybody seems to be on the mark here, just a couple more suggestions I didn't see: Make sure you are brushing her hair throughly. Try using an oil-based grease or lotion (luster's pink oil moisterizer is great!) or good old-fashioned soft sheen or blue magic. Also go ahead and braid it up for a week at a time. keep it clean, brushed, and braided and it should do great!

I checked when I got home last night, and the other hair grease is called Johnson's Ultra Sheen. It's been around forever and works great!
