Default for anyone who uses self tanners or gradual self-tanners (jergens, etc.)?

I'm new to self-tanning but am currently experimenting. I'd love to find a self-tanning product and routine that will make me never want to lay in a tanning bed again! lol anyway though, just a few questions - for one, it may seem weird, but is it appropriate to put self-tanner on places one may not think of (such as the ears,& behind the ears)? Also, I've heard of some people experiencing weird coloring when the tanner fades, such as fading in blotchy spots and looking like a leopard or something lol. If anyone can give me some tips/tricks and recommendations on good self tanners that would be great! thanks

i've tried the jergens self tanner and didn't like it at all. it worked but it looked too fake. it also smelled horrible.

i heard lemon juice helps get rid of any streaks that self tanning lotions may leave.

I like Victoria's Secret...Bare Bronze. It's the bet I've found. The key to even color is...YOU. You have to apply it evenly and keep goin over it to make sure that it's even! Generally any uneveness is due to the space in between your fingers...SORRY! Good Luck with this!

I have only used Jergen's self tanner but I really liked it! The key is to make sure you get the right shade that matches your current skin tone so that you won't turn orange. After you pick the right one, you will want to be sure and exfoliate a few times a week to scrape off dead skin cells and ensure an even color. What is nice about Jergins is that it is a gradual builder so if you miss a little spot one day chances are it won't be noticable. Jergens has a face tanner as well that works great. I don't put it behind or on my ears, but I suppose you could.
