tips to make my bedroom smell nice? any methods to make some home-made

perfumes or oils? i dont like vanilla scent..gives me a headache..and so does fruity smells...or anything that sends the 'sweet' signal to ur brain.
perhaps some white-musky smell or light lavender like, flowery smell.?
mmm...maybe with some things easily found in the kitchen cabinets of a south indian family...and no!..i dont want sambar incense sticks.
