Re: What's the best kind of nail polish to buy?
You should try Sally Hansen nail polish, or Revlon: they have pretty colors, OPI is really nice: alot of salon use this brand. Basically you can use any brand and see what you like best.
Use a base coat before you actually paint your nails, always use a base coat when painting your nails a dark color like blue, green, purple, black, etc. This prevents your nails from turning yellow when you take off the polish. Base coat is always clear. It'll say if it's a base coat when you look for the name of the color of the polish.
After you use the base coat, let it dry then paint your nails the color of your choice. Let them dry, and then put another coat of the nail polish on so that your nails are stronger and to ensure the color lasts longer. Once that coat of paint is dry always and I mean always put a top coat on top, to make sure that the color won't fade or chip off. Always paint in one directions from your cuticles to the edge of your nails, if you painted your nails in more than just one directions it won't look smooth. It'll look messy and very tacky.
The top coat is just like the base coat, it's always clear
Nail polish usually last 2 week at the longest, after that you'll have to re-paint your nails if you still when them painted.
