Default can i paint my lip piercing stud black w nail polish? and please be...

...realistic with answers...? I pierced my own lip and it didn't get infected but like a smart cookie I am I went to go see my doctor just to make sure. and she explained to me that a hole in your lip is no more than a cut on your arm, both vulnerable to infections.
So i do use neosporin =]
Yes because I'm 15.
I know dumb.
and my parents would kill.
So y didn't I wait.
I did talk to my doc and she recommended to take it out and use alcohal swabs.
she's very good.
and i told her how I did.
I burn the needle, used gloves, had some hydrogen peroxide near me, more alcohal swabs.
But I felt no pain when I did it nor saw any blood. Thanks for all your answers.
Can you use carmax around it?

"Neosporin" is horrible for piercings. But since your question isn't about proper care or execution we'll leave that part alone.

No, you can't paint it with nail polish or any other kind of paint for that matter. Unless, that is, you want to cause yourself some health issues. You can get black jewelry at pretty much any piercing shop, Ebay or at your friendly local Hot Topic.

No, do you have a clue as to how many chemicals are in nail polish? They are safe for use on nails, but putting it into a piercing could result in SEVERE problems.

If you want a black ring, buy one.

And a hole in your lip is more than a cut on your arm. There are very few modification friendly doctors out there.

Don't use neosporin! It is a petroleum based anti-bacterial. Petroleum based wound care products are for surface wounds only...read the back of the tube or box, they say not for deep or puncture wounds, a piercing is a puncture wound, are they are deep, especially a lip, it goes all the way through. Petroleum based products in fresh piercings causes build up, also, it causes dead skin cells, dust, dirt, and every other small particle to stick to the jewelry, which means it gets in the piercing amplifying the chances for infection.

Can I ask why you didn't go to a professional and have it done the right way, and also to be give proper piercing aftercare directions?
