Eye liner help?
I wear makeup everyday, but when i put on eyeliner, i always mess it up and i have to redo my eye area because when i wash it off, it smudges. How should i apply my eye liner? (I guess you could say im bad at putting eyeliner on)

as the other girls said, do your eyeliner first-liquid or pencil- because if you try to do it on top of your mascara, it could smudge the mascara too! what i do is take a pencil that is pretty dull so it will move easier, and stick the tip in between my fingers or a piece of toilet paper. this warms the pencil up so it will glide onto your eye easier and with a darker color. then, starting on the bottom, right up close to the lashes, move towards the outside of your eye. then, go to the top and start at the inside lashes and move out. connect the two lines at the outside corner of your eye.
if the look is too strong for you, take a q-tip and lightly go over it to soften the look.
lastly, try brown eyeliner if you have blue eyes---it makes ur eye color pop out!!
good luck<3

Put your eyeliner on before the rest of your eye makeup so that you do not mess up what you have already done. Always apply the liner lightly and add more as you go. Dont try to just do one hard streak...it will most likely look crooked. To make the liner look more natural : only put the liner from the outside of the eye halfway in. Lining the whole eye will make yours eye look unnatural and closed. Hope that helps

If you are using pencil: Pull your eyelid taut with your finger and draw on the liner as close to your lashline as possible (make sure that your pencil is sharp so that you will get a smooth line)
If you are using liquid: Pull your eyelid taut with your finger and carefully sweep the brush as close to your eyelid as possible, creating a long, smooth line. Don't try to dot the liner between your lashes! The only way you will get perfectly lined eyes when using liquid liner is through practice, practice, practice
Tip: You might want to try to find a liquid liner marker. It makes applying liquid liner much easier because you don't have to be as careful with the brush.
If you mess up: Dip a Q-tip in some makeup remover and carefully remove the smudge.

Go to the mall, in a store like MAC and ask a make-up artist to teach you. It's the best way to learn, since they are professional and will teach you the best and right way.
Ask them to do one eye, and then you can practice with the other, and they will tell you what you are doing wrong.

Putting on eyeliner was very hard for me to learn as well. As awful as this sounds, practice does make perfect. However, buying a round tip eyeliner pencil is much easier, especially the ones with erasers on the end. They never need to be sharpened, and, more importantly, they are SO much easier to put on. You can find them anywhere where makeup is sold, like Target, Walmart, Walgreens, etc. Now, when you go to put it on, pretend like you're sketching. Don't draw one line without lifting the pencil. That is very hard to get right. Also, don't put it on heavy at first, in case you make a mistake. Just concentrate on following your lashline. As you sketch, if you are drawing on the right spot, go over it a few more times, making it as dark as you want. The key is to do it in small parts, because this will lessen your chances of making a mistake. When you are completely done with the first eye, take a step back from the mirror (which I'm assuming you're using) and carefully study it. Concentrate and try to line your other eye in the same manner. After you are completely done, once again, take a step back from the mirror and make sure both eyes look the same. If they don't, try to match them, and use the eraser on the pencil for help. If you messed them up really bad, and cannot get them to look identical, the only option you really have is to wash it off and start again.
If my advice doesn't help, see if your mom, aunt, or a friend will help you apply it. Just make sure that they are good at it. =) Hope that helps, and good luck!

i do my eyeliner as the very first thing, because on top i do liquid liner and bottom i do pencil because it is a softer look, and sometimes when i do the liquid liner i mess up, so i do it first. that way it won't mess anything up and you will be able to put it on correctly rather than trying to do it with mascara on your eyelashes. hope that helps. :]
