I can do the bottom perfectly, but how to do the top. also should i just do the top and leave the bottom. please post pics for examples!

I use my left index finger to pull the outter corner of my eye, causing it to close, and apply the eyeliner RIGHT up against the lash line. I use liquid so I get a really fine line.

I know a girl who lifts her lid up and applys it to the lid under the lashes (kinda how a lot of people do the bottom) but I have not tried it. She looks really good with it like that.

Just get right on top of your eyelash line. If it will help you make dots against the line of your lashes, then connect them and blend blend blend.
