I was never keen on eyeliner pencils or liquid eyeliner...the pencils frighten me and the liquid is even worse.

Anyways, I don't normally put on eyeliner, but one day I was putting mascara on and since it wasn't perfect I took a piece of wet paper towel and started to wipe the mascara off my lashes in an upwards sweeping movement (sort of like brushing my lashes like you do with the mascara wand).

After wiping it off, I discovered after looking in the mirror that I had brushed the mascara onto my eyelids, making it look like I'd put on eyeliner.

It didn't look awful, it was great in fact. So I was wondering if this was an okay alternative to eyeliner.

And would you use this alternative way for eyeliner too?
Oops! I meant I'd brushed the mascara onto the folds of my eyelid.

OMG i do the same thing!!! b4 i read this question i though i was weird... lol but ya i hated the pencils and liquid eyeliner but the same as u it happened by accident and gosh it looked amazing and natural!!! and it kinda looked like liquid eyeliner. and it wasnt even that hard taking it off!! so all i can say is its okay and there is nothing wrong with doing that instead!!!

Ive seen a girl talk about that on tv once. Its a good method of doing eyeliner on your eyes if you cant do the pencil or the liquid one. Go ahead as long as you don't feel irritation there should be no problems.

its an okay alternative eyeliner if you can brush it off to make it look perfect exactly each time i guess.

i would never use that alternative, i can apply eyeliner. its not that hard. and its probably easier and better than wiping mascara onto your eyelid

Yep, whatever works. Just because mascara is meant for your lashes doesn't mean you can't wear it on your lids. I use blush and chapstick for lipcolor, eyeshadow for eyeliner and to fill in my eyebrows, bronzer as eyeshadow, lotion to smooth my hair frizzies, and vaseline as eyemakeup remover. Theres more than one use for alot of things!

It might depend on the type of mascara that it is...it might sting.

A better alternative to eyeliner is to use black eyeshadow and apply it with a thin brush just like you would with an eyeliner pencil. Your way is probably more difficult, but it's not a bad idea though
