applying eye concealer with mini sponge causes eyebags?

can't afford a concealer brush so I'm using the mini sponge the kind used to apply eye shadow.

I notice yesterday suddenly that I have eye bags! could this be the cause? Maybe I stretch\pull the skin under my eyes too much by using the sponge?
