What ( If any ) Is the difference between concealer and coverup? If they are different, do they work the same?

I'm pretty sure their the same, but I have people telling me different things :P

Also, what is your favorite brand of concealer/coverup?
Liquid, creme, stick ( Like that comes in a lipstick looking thing)?
