Certain types of concealer are meant for different areas. Some types come in yellow, purple and green. It has to do with color wheel opposites, i.e. green is opposite red on a color wheel, so to cover red spots, you would use a tiny dab of green concealer to create a neutral.
Use only tiny spots, and blend it in with a makeup sponge. If it looks grey, you might need a different color for under your eyes than you would use on the rest of your face. On spots on your face, use a concealer brush to dab it into your skin, carefully blending it so it doesn't stand out against the rest of your makeup. I find using the brush is more effective than a fingertip. You can find them at Wal-Mart or a makeup store, from cheap to VERY expensive.
