I'm not sure if your concealer is supposed to match your foundation exactly. I remember being at the MAC counter and the lady told me to use the lighter shade.

Yes. Your concealer should be a tad lighter than your foundation because it gives you a brighter more awake and fresh look. Only use a lighter concealer around the eyes though. If you are using it to conceal large pores or pimples, try and match your foundation/skin shade exactly.

yes u should b/c w/ concealer your trying to conceal dark blotchiness...so that's why it needs to be lighter than your skin color (which shld be the color of your foundation)

yes, if you are using it for under eye circles, it should be 1-2 shades lighter, it counteracts the dark pupley color under your eyes. to conceal a pimple or blemish however, it is best to stick to a concealer that is your skin tone.
