I would not recommend an over the counter flea shampoo...they contain harsh chemicals and poisons that can harm and even kill your cat. I would suggest a regular cheap animal shampoo or johnson's baby shampoo and then go to your vet and get frontline, advantage, or one of the other prescription flea medications.
