Exfoliate before hand!!!!! This is crucial for an even tan!! The exfoliation will remove the dead skin build up and allow for a more even tan.

Also I agree with the post above, apply only minimal amounts because the self tanner is DHA which is a brown color + your pale skin (white) =a blend of orange!
